Rock Dust Light Star US release in 2011

Added on Saturday 23 October 2010, 10:46 (BST)

According to a short article published by the Reuters news agency Rock Dust Light Star is planned for US release in 2011.  Canada gets the album on 9 November and the rest of the world on or around 1 November.

With the US album release being held back until next year could this mean the band are planning some promotional activity to go with the release?

I was at the last show for their tour in '95 in Chicago. I was terribly sick but did not want to miss my chance to see Jamiroquai live. I would love the chance to see them but when I wasn't sick. :)

Good news!

I will definitely buy this album, I'm amazed. I wouldn't have bought it just for being a fan's sake but I LOVE IT. The album tracks are better than the singles released (more commercial songs)!!

Of course US is always last...already preordered the UK version! Last saw him in 2005 in Boston...he's overdue for a visit.

I've just heard She's A Fast Persuader on YouTube. Ow! Talk about an AWESOME song! Why wasn't this a single?? Are they thinking about giving the US a completely different promotion? If so, it would be wise to use SAFP and TCDT as promotional singles.

She's a Fast Persuader is the best song they have produced since the TWM days.Amazing song.I really wanted to wait until the 1st of November to hear the full track, but temptation was too strong. It would have been a good choice for a single, but maybe it was deemed too sexually explicit.

No matter what, even if I do listen to the album beforehand, I WILL support Jamiroquai and purchase this album. I'll either import the deluxe Japanese edition or get the US release in 2011 (it depends on what the US version includes).

I can't wait for the tour schedule!
2011 is going to be a Jamiroquai filled year...I am so excited:-)

i knew the guys wouldnt forget the American fans

Sounds like the boys FINALLY have some plans for the States! We will see!

I hope we get some extra tracks for this extra wait!!! lol

Dynamite was released by Sony as a 'DualDisc' in the U.S. with the DVD side boasting two music videos, a making-of clip, and the entire album in enhanced sound. Turns out Universal is one of the DualDisc labels, too.

I'd wager that RDLS will get the same treatment Stateside. Not sure if we'll get the three bonus tracks, (Angeline, Hang It Over, That's Not The Funk I Want) though.

2011,huh? I'm so glad that I pre-ordered an import copy.I live in the US and I wouldn't be able to wait that long for this new CD!!

One thing I really want IF Jamiroquai come to the States for a Rock Dust Light Star promotional tour: SMALL VENUE TOUR!!! Given the current economic climate, it would be awesome if they could just stick to 'small venues' than the big arenas for the new tour, I mean give back to the 'hardcore fans', hehe like me and all the other American Jamily. Just my thoughts...

I'm at the...third, accurate listen to the new record. At first, my comment were...acid. Now, I must admit: this is a very good disc. At first, "Persuader" is one fo the most f...king brilliant songs they've composed from a loooong time. Second, it's not a problem of acid jazz or not: the disc sounds "good", balanced, in some ways old style. It seems that Jamiroquai (at least!) does not care of music business, but has laid down harmonies, vocals, sounds, arrangements and drums only for his (and for fans) pleasure. There's a great...."menu" of many music flavours: dance, funk, rock, reggae(!), soul, and for me the best reason for a successful record is....that NO ONE raise up (in terms of sound and played parts) versun another. Every band member do the right part at the righ moment, even mr Harris. Good, good....brass comeback is, of course, the fresh air we were waiting for. But, I repeat, everything is smoothly....balanced. Seems we're returning to the old style moods, but with a modern way.....

Why?

Chris, I recall them including Do You Know Where I'm Coming From with the US version of TWM. Since we have to wait longer, I would hope they'd include those bonus tracks. After all, they cost absolutely nothing to include on the disc and would make a great many people happy.

Too bad we have to wait another week in Canada.... BOOO!
I hope the 2 disc version is available here.

Doncha think that's asking a LOT of human beings? This IS the internet, after all! lol

Anyway, unless they are planning some kind of Jamiro Mega-Jam here in the US featuring the current lineup, along with a funky super-group featuring Stu, Toby, Nick, etc. opening for them, as well as all of their side-projects, all under one roof... I am peeved by this delay!! How much longer do we have to wait? Somehow, I mean this as a compliment. A big one.

release disappointment aside... this is the album i've been waiting 10 years for... thanks boys! It would be nice if the last 2 albums were scratched from history... ah well.
