The 2000 Euros is bullsh*t! It was just a joke a french fan did... It's just another private gig: they all got bills to pay, and please remember that we're in the middle of an extended european tour, & waiting for the asian tour too...

By the way, what Cyril wants to say is that they were due to perform at the french TV show "Le Grand Journal" (like they did in november 2010), but unfortunately, it seems that they cancelled the performance...

There's always been private gig, & there'll always be private gig... It's easy money... The only difference is that back in 1993-1999, we didn't know about that (no internet)...

The only problem I see is that I was not there!! :-)

The "problem" is still the same : even if they had a lot of money, they need more and more... It's not exactly the lead message from the beginning (WYGL, Soul Education, Virtual Insanity...). And selling the band's identify, the Buffalo man, only to promote a Beer Company, sorry, but in my opinion, it's the worst thing I have seen from the guys (JAy, in fact) for a long time. Perhaps I'm an idealist, but I don't say something and do the oppposite.

If I remember correctly, the Jamiroquai 'brand' was used back in 1996 to help sell MiniDiscs in Japan. How did you feel about that at the time? Perhaps you need to shorten your idea of Jamiroquai's (non-existant) "commercial-free golden age" down to 1993-1995?

In this day and age with so few jobs around... I say fair play to them with private gigs, take the money and run!

Product endorsement is a different matter.. There may be the danger of being seen as "selling out" to corporate multinationals. How is the multinational going to manipulate their image and identity, with loss of control of sophisticated craftsmanship of the band?

Appreciate its difficult if that is part of the deal with Mercury records.. hands may be tied (possibly thats what happened with X Factor??)
