Atar and the Funkadrome

MTV Jamiroquai fanatic episode winner Atar and his band (Atar & The Funkadrome) will be launching their debut album 'Funkadrome' on Monday 19 September at the Clapham Grand in London.  The 15 piece band will play an album's worth of material + a few covers to be performed for the first time.

"The music contains traces of Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Earth Wind and Fire, Herbie Hancock and Jamiroquai. However, the band oozes with an energetic youthfulness that keeps it from ever entering the ‘retro’ realm. The excitement of the arrangements, the aggression of the solos and the delivery of the material make this a unique debut album."

A few months ago I went along to a gig they played in London and was really impressed.   If you want some great funky music, then you really will not be disappointed.

More information and samples of their funky music can be found at Atar.co.uk, and tickets to the gig are available from www.ticketweb.co.uk.

I love the single 'You Set My Soul On Fire' which I have bought and I can't wait to get the album on Monday. You can tell who Atar's fave band is!!! I recommended them to any Jamiroquai fan!

Good luck to you atar!!! I hope Funkadrome will have success! Hancock, Jamiroquai, Stevie wonder, EWAF, you've got the right influences. Long life to you. Cheers

it was taking forever to upload, so i only got to hear one song...i really dig the band. the vocals are okay (reminds me of that pop/r&b that gets annoying a bit on the radio), but the stand out the instrumentation. i'm going to listen to more later. good luck atar!!
