The Sunday Times newspaper (UK) has just published its 2003 Pay List - a list of the 500 people in the UK who get paid the most money. Jay just makes it into the list at number 489 after earning £1.569 million last year. The article in the newspaper says: "Jay Kay, the party-mad funkster who was named GQ magazine's most stylish man of the year, hasn't released an album in two years - but total sales from his previous five with his band Jamiroquai are at the 20m mark. He says he received his first royalty cheque back in 1992, for £5,000, and that he went out and bought a BMW for £1,000. As the amounts of his royalty cheques have risen, so has his taste in cars. He now owns 18, with pride of place going to a £500,000 Ferrari Enzo. We go with the most recent accounts for his company, Jamiroquai Ltd, which show he took £1m in dividends and £868,662 in salary. Almost enough to afford four Enzos."

Jamiroquai failed to win in either of their two nominations (Best Jungle Act and Best Music Video) in the Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) awards today in 1996. You Give Me Something was released in the UK this week in 2001.
