For those in London, this weekend has been a total Jamiroquai-fest! Starting on Friday with the Elizabeth Taylor celebration concert, and on Saturday at the Soccer Six tournament, the band entertained the holiday crowds in London's Covent Garden on Monday for a free performance as part of the BBC Music Live event. Some tracks (including a cover of "Sunny") were broadcast live by BBC Radio 1 but those who were there got to hear a few more tracks. In an on-air interview Jay said that the band are busy experimenting with different instruments and putting together both electronic and analog to make fresh new sounds ready for a new album in 2001. In addition to the soundtrack work on Titan A.E. and Snatch, they have recently been working with Bootsy Collins and have also recorded Hollywood Swinging for a new Kool & The Gang album featuring lots of different artists covering their tracks. Also noted was the fact the guitarist Simon Katz wasn't there (nor was he at the World Music Awards the other week), whatever that may mean...

Jamiroquai failed to win in either of their two nominations (Best Jungle Act and Best Music Video) in the Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) awards today in 1996. You Give Me Something was released in the UK this week in 2001.
