The chart commentry at the Dotmusic web site had the following to say about Jamiroquai's number 20 position for King For A Day... "A notable release this one as this is probably the closest Jamiroquai will ever come to a ballad. The single still has Jay Kay's trademark funk rhythm but the rest of the instrumentation is nothing more than a nagging piano riff and what sounds suspiciously like a string quartet. King For A Day is easily their most downtempo release to date but just manages to squeeze past the disappointing Number 22 peak of their last single Supersonic which charted back in September."
The Singles Collection, a Canadian 5 single wooden box set was released this week in 1997. In 1998, Deeper Underground dropped to number 5 in the UK singles chart. Today in 2001, Jamiroquai performed Little L on Top Of The Pops (UK).
