Deeper Underground entered the UK singles chart at number one on Sunday. After getting close to the top slot with Virtual Insanity (which reached number three in August 1996), the band have for the first time got a number one hit which is also a first for the Sony S2 label. This is a superb achievement by the band and according to the official site, the band members are pretty pleased too. For those who like numbers, this is the 796th number one hit ever! Now can Jamiroquai hold onto the top spot against the Spice Girls, who's latest single was released today (Monday)....
Travelling Without Moving was at number two in the UK album charts this week in 1996. Supersonic, the second single to be taken from Synkronized, was released this week in the UK in 1999. A Funk Odyssey was at number one this week in 2001.
