Added on Tuesday 30 December 2008, 15:49 (GMT)
Funk Affair - a group featuring Jamiroquai band members Derrick McKenzie, Rob Harris and Paul Turner have a number of 2009 dates listed at the Ronnie Scotts club in London's Soho.  The dates are 11 January, 1 February, 1 March and 5 April.

"A hard night of solid funk from this great collection of UK funkateers. With members of acid jazz stalwarts Jamiroquai (original drummer Derrick McKenzie, bassist Paul Turner and Rob Harris on guitar) joining the excellent Louise Pollock, well known both on the Ronnie's bandstand and across the country for her work with Real featuring Louise and Winston Rollins, expect some seriously deep grooves tonight..."

Original drummer Nick van Gelder not Mckenzie ;)

Thanks for pointing that out. I fixed a mis-spelling of Derrick's name in the quote when I originally got it from the Ronnie Scotts website, but left the "original drummer" part in there! I can't do all their work for them!

now Ronnies own at least Nick's a gig :D
if anyone have a chance to go to one of Funk Affair's gigs...GO!! It's an incredible experience and a real best quality music overdose.

wow, they will play at my birthday
the february 1, wow

somebody can record that show for me?

If they play funk together, it's because they haven't enough with jamiroquai. I find this sad. horns backkkkkk !
