In a recent interview, Jay's ex-fiance Denise van Outen has praised his drug-free lifestyle - insisting he's a "totally different person" since kicking his cocaine habit, according to contactmusic.com.  They write:

"The Deeper Underground singer, who dated the British actress and TV presenter from 2001 until 2003, has stayed clean since ditching his addiction in January 2004, and Outen believes people should now give the star a second chance.

She says, "I know lots of people hate him. He's totally different now he's stopped doing drugs.

"He admits it, he did behave like an idiot sometimes."

"If people give him a chance they'll see he does have a really lovely side, a really good heart."
