Radio 1's Big Weekend Reviews

Added on Saturday 14 May 2005, 18:42 (BST)

Although it is almost a week ago now, I'm really enjoying the recordings from BBC Radio 1's One Big Weekend event.  The last of the tracks that were broadcast is now on the downloads page of the site, and there's been some great reviews of the performance around during this week...

The Guardian newspaper (UK) wrote:

It was left to Jamiroquai to bring proceedings to a close. Despite laryngitis and a long absence from touring while he tackled drug addiction, Jay Kay appeared to have lost neither his voice or his trademark moves - though the latter did at one stage threaten to separate him from his trousers.

The Durham University student newspaper (UK), wrote:

The act of the day, though, had to be Jamiroquai. These guys really know how to put on a show. Bringing the day to a close, the high-energy set left everyone wanting more. Playing a range of new and old material, not even a bout of laryngitis could stop Jay Kay bouncing around the stage, getting everyone to join in. Ending with a powered up version of Deeper Underground, the heavy bass kicked everyone back to reality.
