According to ITN News, UK road safety campaigners are not at all happy at Jay's comments in the current issue of FHM magazine (see news from 28 December) that he has driven at 175mph on a public road. A spokesperson at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents said "We are appalled to hear that someone in the public eye is prepared to behave like this. At 175 miles per hour you're not going to survive a crash. If he is prepared to put his own life at risk, it's bad enough, but he is putting other people's lives at risk - if he hits them they're going to die as well."
Around this time in May 2000, bidding on the Mini website for a Jamiroquai customised Mini car finished with the winner driving away in a bit of mini-jamiro-history for just over 14,000 pounds (UK).
