I've just been speaking with Derrick McKenzie who's given me lots of news and information about what he's been up to recently...

• Derrick has been writing material at home and has also recently been working with some other people. Last hear he spent some time in New York with Roger Sanchez. Three tracks were recorded and Jay was meant to sing on one of them for release this summer but with the release of Funk Odyssey around the corner, it look's like we'll have to wait for now.
• Sola and Derrick have written a track which needs to be finished off vocally and mixed.
• Sola, Wallis and Derrick have been doing some drum clinics recently, the most recent of which was last Sunday. The three of them performed three acoustic tracks with Sola singing vocals on some of them.
• Wallis also performed a track that he wrote with his writing partner.
• Sola is also keeping busy with his Yoruba Jazz People project, of which he is musical director.
• Derrick has also recently been trying his hand at producing and has been working with Nick and Rob (Harris). He's now trying to get Toby and Jay involved.
• Derrick and the rest of the band are currently getting ready for the Knebworth performance on August 11th and he has asked me that if anyone has any questions that they would like to ask him, please email me and I'll pass them on and put his answers on the site.
