Friday 10th or Thursday 9th :P ?

Interesting first snippet :) I wonder how this is done marketing/strategy wise.. 2 singles.. then a long time before the album..? How is the airplay of Automaton? I have the feeling not very good in the Netherlands..

Let's say Thursday 9th ;) Thanks.

The promo clip sounds strange so I'll reserve my opinion until I've heard the full thing. Hope it's a great song.

Hum, it sounds very interesting ! Can't wait for listenning the entire track tomorrow. I really wonder how it will be ;)

Can't wait to hear
Hopefully a US tour
It's been too long!!!
Don't forget about your US fans we're still loyal!!!!

That's 6AM in my time zone so I'll have to wake up early!! I hope there is a South American Tour!!!

Why now? Weird.

anyone tried reversing the 30 second promo track? it sounds reversed to me!

Interested to hear how this song pans out. The preview clip jas same feel as Automaton but have a feeling we are going to have a large surprise in store. I'm going to put my money on horns for this one.

Currently on my hols and off exploring today so will take a listen tonight and see what I think.

Happy 2nd song listen everyone!!! Feels like a very stretched out advent!

It's a B-Side from the promo CD..

When will they finally play the @#$!@#$ track. The radio show just keeps going on... I'm dying to know the direction of the band...

Now they are seriously talking about whether ketchup should be kept in the fridge...

And now I am !@#$!@$ #listening to the safest angle for stairs... Why is this show still around? What bright spirit thought of letting these people on the radio...

11:37 GMT and finally the song is playing. Nice track so far.

Perfect track, back to old school

Hmmm, underwhelmed I have to say. Bass line a bit simple and formulaic, minimal string arrangement and no horns. More of a 'head nodder' than a dance floor filler. Hope the rest of the album is a bit more imaginative.

I like.

Well I like it much more than Automaton. Sounds more like an old-school groove with an 80's pop sensibility, kind of like something Rod Temperton might've written. Fits nice and snug next to Little L and stuff like that. Interesting that it's listed as 3:56 in length but the radio play is just 3 minutes and change. Perhaps that FB transmission was the intro.

I went in without preconceived notions and was pleasantly surprised. Now all that's left is to wait for the imminent album samples and release.

I like it too. For some reason, I kept hearing a downtempo Daft Punk 'Get Lucky' mixed with keyboard progression of the Eagle's 'Sad Cafe'...

Michael: yes, the FB transmission was the intro - this was confirmed when Mi:Soul radio played the track a little while after BBC Radio 2 played it.

Better than the electro stuff but the irony is that the intro (which sounds similar to runaway) is the best part, almost sounds a bit eerie set against some of those Instagram shots...

Not the 70's jazz funk that an older fan likes, so far, but interesting to hear the vocal range pitched a bit higher. Mainly MOR, Get Lucky was a logical comparison (couldn't have one without the other I suppose). Very much a keyboard and vocal produced thing. Worlds away from the ROTSC demos and band jams.

Thanks David for the confirmation. I've been listening to Cloud 9 nonstop for about an hour. I'm stoked, to say the least. Been too long since I've heard an infectious groove with a sweet melody like this, as delivered by Jay and Co.

Heard it .. great track ...both of them automaton and cloud 9... everything sounds fresh!!! Jay kay's voice is just great !!

If I hear another person going on about wanting to hear old sounds of flipping 17-24 odd years ago I'm going to flip! I'd love to hear horns, and old skool Jamiroquai too but it's 2017 now and Cloud 9 and Automaton really sound great in this time and era. The two songs have already surpassed the whole last two albums already!!

My favorite track off of Dynamite was 'Hot Tequila Brown'. My favorite track off of RDLS is 'She's a Fast Persuader'. The band's biggest hit, 'Virtual Insanity' is not the best representation of their work. My point being, don't judge an album by the singles, and don't forget that concert version of Jamiroquai is far superior to the album version. Can't wait for the Tokyo show in May!

The clip sounds perfect!

Splendid vibe!

Oh dear, I'm really trying to not be negative again, but I think this is unmemorable (not sure if that's even a word). It seems that the first two tracks are lacking depth in their production, and I think this track could do with a deeper string section and more obvious bassline. Could this be because Jay and Matt have produced the album themselves?
