Please - dear sweeeeeeet God - next time, I wish the gentleman in his mid 30s would get some one else to do the business, patience is a virtue, but keeping a reputation on the popular side of the British street is harder to achieve.

They missed out the key point - Jay kay thought the paps were waiting for him. They weren't - they were after Lindsay Lohan... He wailed "leave me alone" and hit people who didn't know who the hell he was...

Ok what he did might not be right but i hate the way the media is reporting the whole thing, particularly the fact that the paps were waiting for Lindsey Lohan-yeah right they want to take a pix of any celeb coming out. If their cameras were off then how did they manage to get pixs of the whole thing? And the vid going round of it-doesn't it seem they wound him up and they were all set upto capture it? And the articles Samantha did a great job of finding are so biased (wouldn't have read them if they weren't posted on the forums). The eyewitness all described what Jay was saying as a load of garbage-I actually found the "Are you Italian" comment followed by a slap quite funny lol. All i've heard on the radio today is that the tabloids are mocking him, along the lines of he punched the photographer for no reason because they weren't waiting for him but for Lindsey Lohan and got himself arrested and put in a cell all nite for no reason ha ha ha. So what if he made a mistake? He's only human. And if they really were waiting for that Lindsey why aren't their any pix of her (if there are please correct me and i withdraw the last comment)I don't justify what he did or that he got off so lightly but to mock his behaviour as if he is an extemly stupid person angers me cos he ain't. If he was then why's he so highly talented? If there's anybody mentioned in these reports to be called stupid its probaly Lindsey Lohan cos she just falls into the same camp of people like Paris Hilton. Rant over i feel so much better now lol!

OMG - I've just seen the footage.

I am ashamed that the commentary called Sir JK by the name of 'Jamiroquai'. It smeared the name of all of our Jamiroquai band members. I wish they had referred to him as Mr. Jason Kay of the band Jamiroquai.

He should wear ear plugs and never make eye contact with the press if he can't be a sport to take the rough comments with the smooth. The media made a fool out of him, and I am gutted that he rose to the bait.

What a sad event that ultimately effects us all negatively.

Where did you find the footage Little H - so the people who have condoned this behaviour can have a look? Maybe they will rethink their 'Go Jay' comments.

I saw the whole incident shown in a US celebrity news magazine television programme that was broadcast on the MBC (Middle East Broadcasting Corporation) Channel Four. It is a station that broadcasts by satellite.

I would of recorded it if I had known that it were being broadcast. I was riveted into my chair as I watched the regrettable events unfold.

It was pitiful. There is no way it can be defended or legitimized. I am so sorryful.

Whilst Im sure the paparazzi can be a nightmare, they are also the very same people that help put people like jay in the news, particularly in the earlier days, in doing so they would have helped increase his revenue. Like others here have said you have to take the rough with the smooth....thats life. Its actually rare these days to see jay in the papers doing day to day things, the press are interested in the younger bands and celebs. He wouldnt have even been in the news if he hadnt reacted the way he did. Everyones entitled to go out and have fun, get drunk, be a little crazy but seeing a bloke in his thirties laying into a man in his fifties,unprovoked, isnt what I want to see from anyone, celeb or non celeb!!! It reminds me of the yobs you see on the news where there is cctv footage of someone being beaten up for no reason, by someone with no right to lay a finger on them, sorry it makes me mad! It all seems so at odds with the ideals that he sings about in his music.

Look, i get drunk too sometimes and think people are being rude to me. I've even been arrested for boozy incidents in posh bars but you grow up. I'm still only 24. The said gentleman in his 30s should know a lot better cos it's not like it's the first time.
