a very good opportunity, but damn!! i learnt the wrong instrument...but still trumpet is fun..and also how to get to london from australia with no money?..

Cosmic chic, trumpet is a superb instrument. You must be proud for beeing able to play it. ;)
It will be great if I could be face to face with Sola, the SoulMan from Nigeria. Unfortunately, I won't... Come on girls, take the chance, use Sticks and play drums or percussion until the funk shows you the way !

I am so tempted to sign up for this! I'll actually be in London on that date!!! However, I too picked up the wrong instrument as a kid. I play the flute (and very poorly at that), but maybe my Latin roots will help me get the beats right... It'd be embarassing if I was a bad percussion student! LOL!!

i've been playing the trumpet for a few years, and i love playing jazz, latin and funk pieces!! so yeah thanks funkadelic! i too have latin roots, and would love to be in london to meet the incredible Sola, but i have to go to school =( oh well...funk on!

It would be cool to be there that day but I don't live in London, too bad.

I've always wanted to learn how to play the drums. Man, this would be such a great opportunity. Unfortunately, London's a little far. :o(

Sue, if you desire, I can give you few lessons...

^^^^^ funkadelic is hot today ! lol

word...there aren't enough girls playing instruments in general.

lol lol

except violin. there are a lot of young women i know who play violin. i say sax rules!

nah, trumpets better than sax! lol =P

sax is sexier. and it doesn't sound as bad when kids play it.

sax may be sexier, but trumpets are more fun and energenic, and kids also play sax as badly as they do trumpet

Anyway Girls, Horns are all fabulous !

thanks for clearing all that up funkadelic! =D lol

How do you know that there's a drummer at the door?
The knock keeps slowing down.

i think the general reason for why kids sound so bad on all wind intstruments is that they seem to think that the only way to produce a nice sound is by blowing as hard as humanly possible.

too true! and its the same with brass instruments, cos the kids have to blow hard just to make a noise

though nothing is as bad as kids on the recorder

oh my goodness no! it just pierces right through
