1996 British Grand Prix

On Sunday 14 July 1996, Sony Music spent around £40,000 to send the media, retail and radio big wigs on a day out to the British Grand Prix.

During the day a number of promotional photographs were taken, including the ones on this page, which were used on the promotional posters for the 1996 Autumn Tour.

The Silverstone British Grand Prix was a special event in the Formula One calendar with a special atmosphere - the ''home race'' for the six British teams of the 11 competing, and for the British engineers in many of the other teams.

The 1996 race consisted of 61 laps of the 3.142 mile circuit.
