Music Week wrote on 12 June:

"Jamiroquai return to the top tier with Feels Just Like It Should debuting at number eight. The introductory single from Dynamite- out next Monday (20th) - Feels Just Like It Should is Jamiroquai's highest charting single since Little L. The first single from the band's last album Funk Odyssey reached number five in 2001. with first week sales of 46,678 far eclipsing the 12,443 copies Feels Just Like It Should sold last week. Jamiroquai have now had 20 Top 40 singles in a little over 12 years as hitmakers."

Following its entry in the UK charts at number eight James Masterton wrote in his weekly chart commentary:

"At Number 8 is what for some will be the long awaited return of Jay Kay and Jamiroquai. The UKs premier funk revivalist has been having hit singles for almost 14 years now and has turned out the odd classic along the way. His new album will be his first since 2001s 'A Funk Odyssey' and new single 'Feels Just Like It Should' hits the ground running to become what is surprisingly only his 8th Top 10 single. Sadly it is unlikely to win him any new fans and in truth is a bit of a mess production wise, at times appearing devoid of anything resembling melody. The presence of 'Space Cowboy' and 'Virtual Insanity' on radio playlists even to this day are testament to his ability to write some near perfect pop. This new single sadly isn't."

For information, the sticker on the right-hand side of copy protected promo CD's reads "If this seal is broken you must contact the person who sent it to you immediately".

The version on this CD is the original edit of the track, which was accidentally leaked by the Napster UK digital music download service in the middle of the month. When the track was eventually distributed to radio stations it had changed slightly, with the addition of a "Deeper Underground-esqe" bassline at around 2:20 into the track.
