London concert dates postponed until December

Added on Thursday 15 June 2017, 11:16 (BST)

This comes as no great suprise after seeing the recent videos from hospital but Jamiroquai have today announced that the London concert dates planned for 23/24 June have been postponed until December.  The following message has been posted on the bands Facebook page.

Jay Kay is currently recuperating and in rehabilitation after his procedure last week and as a result has been advised to postpone the two shows later this month at the O2 Arena, London, which will now take place on Sunday the 3rd and Wednesday the 6th of December 2017.

All tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates, and refunds, if required, are available from point of purchase.

Please note that tickets for the postponed O2 show on Friday 23rd June will only be valid for the rescheduled show on Sunday 3rd December. Tickets for the O2 show on Saturday 24th June will only be valid for Wednesday 6th December.

There are no plans at this stage for any additional shows to be affected.

We wish to apologise to all ticket holders for any inconvenience caused, and Jay thanks you all for the continued support and understanding.

NOTE FROM JAY

Hi J here

It is with great regret that again I have to disappoint people due to the ongoing problem with my back. I have never felt so frustrated with a situation as I feel now, and I am desperate to get back to form. After two operations I am only marginally more active, and I know I could never give the 125% energy I need to give to you good people a super show. I am a proud man, and it breaks my heart to have to keep moving these performances and asking for people’s patience. I am distraught at this and am feeling very low.

2017 is turning out to be a tough year, with the loss of several close friends in quick succession and the inability to perform properly in the way I’ve been doing, and the only way I know how to, since I did my first gig at 17 years old.

I want to thank all of you for the messages of support you have sent me. I can’t quite believe how kind you all are. A thousand thanks.

I want to apologise to all of you who have no doubt made travel plans and taken time out to see us in Paris, Athens and London O2, but I give you my word - I promise you I will come back and give you the shows you deserve. Faster, harder and stronger.

Thank you all so much once again for your unerring love and patience, your posts have really picked me up.

From a very wounded Buffalo.

Lots of love,

Jx

It’s a shame that people lose out on booked flights, hotels, transport etc.I del for you guys I really do but I’m kind of glad that Jamiroquai, particularly JK isn’t performing. It’s the London O2. They sold out! I’m sorry to say this but they either go hard or go home! If they’re gonna mess up anywhere make sure it’s not at the London O2! I love Jamiroquai too much for them to give just an average performance. They’re much better than that! JK look after yourself. x

Would you be adding Glasgow to your dates in DECEMBER

London people are much luckier than us Japanese: there's no announcement on the rescheduling of concerts in Japan! All I hope now is Jay's soon recovery. He and we need to thank that the back pain does not seem to derive from some diseases of internal organs, especially thinking of Toby Smith.

Better to get everything sorted and come back on top form.

A friend of mine (Lucy Mitchell) had her nerves wrapped around a disc, she had an urgent operation just before Christmas and still isn't back to full recovery. It takes a while to get over general anaesthetics too.

If I was giving any advice to Jay I would say to think of himself and not the fans. Sometimes in life you have to think of yourself and not others and by doing so ultimately you make everyone happy.

I had a major op 4 years ago and managed to quit smoking because of it. So again. If you can. Then do it. It's an amazing feeling to be smoke free.

Wishing Jay all the best.

And hey Raizo hope you are good. Did you see I found Jay's jacket in a store in Dubai?

There is currently the ability to purchase new tickets for at least the 6th Dec gig FYI. www.seetickets.com

Tickets available for both gigs on AXS...

MsP,
It's nice to talk with you again! I didn't notice your finding, but I succeeded in importing that jacket from Barcelona the other day. You know it's golden and shining in my wardrobe!

I've felt low since the cancelation of Jamiroquai's visit in Japan, but you know I can always let music come and save me. It's my pleasure if you enjoy my recent favorite tune. http://tinyurl.com/yd4pqm7u

Hey Raizo sorry for the delay in replying. It's been a manic week. Hope you're all good (in the hood ha!).

Liked your music recommendation cheers. You know Tortured Soul? Funky House. Your band made me think of them. They are also a 3 piece who play some amazing sounds and are quite unique. This track is quite dancy but has some Miquel Migs remixes who I am sure Derrick was a fan of. Back when. Anyways. My offering to you:

Glad you got your jacket!!! Massimo Duitti started a sale in the last couple of days so do check out their website.

Hopefully, the Japan dates will be rescheduled. I aim to come to Japan in the next couple of years so maybe can catch you there! I have booked Florence. If Jay doesn't make it then I will just have a nice little break instead.

Kind regards to you Raizo.

MsP (Jan)
