Album Chart Show recording
Added on Monday 20 November 2006, 23:46 (GMT)
On Monday night Jamiroquai recorded a number of tracks for UK television show The Album Chart Show.  The show was recorded at the KOKO nightclub in Camden, London and the following tracks were performed:
  • Love Foolosophy
  • High Times
  • Use The Force
  • Travelling Without Moving
  • Runaway
  • Deeper Underground
The band had to stop playing High Times part way through, which I understand was because of a problem with the sound coming from Jay's 'monitor' speakers (the ones in front of him on stage).  They had intended to record the song again after their set but in the end they didn't.The broadcast dates for the show can be found in an earlier news item.

nice one!
great pic david - did you have a special pass???lol

I did but couldn't go.. :( Can anyone fill me in on how good it was and what a great show I missed?!!

Russ: hehe, nah. Last night was a "night off" for me, and with TV stuff there's normally only ever one photographer - from the TV show. Oh, and because I'm so flippin' tall they'd never let me near the front if there were TV cameras there!

Having missed out on many previous competitions to see the band perform in recent months, finally my luck turned and I managed to get to go along last night. Amazingly the band were on first and from what I could gather most people were only there to see them. Although probably not as good as a true gig, the band performance was up to their usual high standards. Not a lot of banter from JK, but I was well pleased with the selection of tracks.

They were great, and managed to ride out the obvious sound problems. Jay was very acknowledging, making plenty of eye contact as always :)He is so fine. Almost threw his trainer away (again!)but he had done them up too well :) made a comment about some guys in the VIP section who he said 'looked as tho they should be vips' - being cheekily truthful :)

HA! I think I can see CosmicBear on the pic! Left side, clapping hands. :)

haha yes!
:-)

Jamiroquai were awesome on monday night @ Koko Club. Because i'd been so used to watching their performances on tv, it was weird knowing i was only a few metres away from the band.
Jay Kay is so small in real life. I even got a smile & a wink from him for me & my friend, LOL!!!!
Really annoyed that we didn't get inside early enough beacause as I walked in they were just finishing Loves Fool aswell as the obvious technical difficulty.
All in all, was worth coming from up north just to see them and they were great. Hoep to see them soon.

Btw, I also heard the reason why everyone got inside Koko so late was because Jay wasn't happy with the sound check so they had to keep going over it. Some Keane & Jamelia fans weren't impressed ;(
Can anyone clarify this?

Keane and Jamelia could probably do with it more!

I heard the same, they were finishing the sound check so we couldn't get in earlier. I was a bit annoyed that when we finally got in, they sent us upstairs, right to the top balcony. It was a bit far but nevermind, the gig was great!
