The London Evening Standard newspaper on Monday (19 Jan) reported that Jay went out this past weekend and spent £365,000 in an afternoon to "cheer himself up". Amongst other things, he purchased Rolls-Royce and Bentley GT motor cars, and a electronic scooter - in less than three hours. He said "I had a cold and had to get out of the studio, so I went out shopping to cheer myself up. It's something to do - isn't it?". The Bentley GT coupé is the world's fastest four seater coupé and can reach 190mph, and will sit comfortably at his home along with his collection which includes Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin and Lamborghini, Rolls Royce and Bentley.
